EIA materials published
The Estonian Ministry of the Environment
has published the updated report of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
of the North-West Estonia offshore wind farm project. Public hearings took place on the 8th of March in Kärdla, Hiiumaa and on the 9th of March in Tallinn. The deadline to submit suggestions was on the 17th of March, 2017.
The Estonian Ministry of the Environment has sent the EIA materials also to the Finnish Ministry of Environment for consultation. Finland has previously expressed a desire to be involved in the EIA process, since the proposed offshore wind farm may have a cross-border environmental impact - particularly on birdlife. The revised EIA report takes into account the comments and suggestions that were received from Finland during the first consultation.
